Participating artists are asked to draw inspiration from Maria Montessori's dedication to an education for peace, liberation, and independence; the aesthetic and design of Montessori materials; or the child's natural development and human potential.

If you are an artist and interested in participating, contact Colin Palombi to begin the conversation.

General agreement with participating artists:

  • Posters may be designed for screen, letterpress, or relief printing.
  • Edition number and price are determined by the artist and the Project.
  • Artists agree to donate a substantial portion of the edition to the Project, thereby allocating poster sale revenue to the Black Montessori Education Fund
  • Prints will be editioned at Spudnik Press Cooperative in Chicago by Colin Palombi and the artist to the extent they wish to, or are able to, participate in the printing process.
  • All paper, ink, and studio time is provided, as well as a small stipend.
  • Artists outside of Chicago, or with their own studio, may arrange to print on their own.
  • Artists not familiar with printmaking are also invited to participate and may consult with Colin Palombi to prepare their concept for print.
